About Rubberlover

Rubberlover started because choosing tyres somehow became harder than choosing a bike.
Back in 2020 I was building a bikepacking rig, and disappeared down a rabbit hole of widths, tread patterns, casing options and sidewall colours. Every tyre brand had its own confusing naming system, half the specs were missing, and finding something that both performed well and actually suited the build became overly difficult.
So instead of just making a decision and moving on with my life, I built a whole website about it.
What started as a personal obsession slowly turned into a fun little corner of the alt cycling world before eventually disappearing for a few years... life got busy and the tyre data became impossibly difficult to maintain properly.
But the seeds of rubber obsessiveness never really went away.
So now – Rubberlover is back. Rebuilt from the ground up with a growing database of thousands of tyres across road, gravel, MTB and bikepacking, including specs, weights, widths, sidewall colours, casing options and all the strange little details you tyre nerds care about.
Welcome back to the tyre boudoir.
Thanks to everyone who's put up with me banging on about this, tested weird ideas, made suggestions, reported bugs, and encouraged the silliness over the years. Especially Al Lynch, Josh Marshall, Jase Sylvester, Matt Williams, Rob Benson, Dave Rossi, Miles Arbour, Patrick Newell and Ronnie Romance.
